In April 2024, Finn Lamex celebrated a 25-year journey full of significant overcoming challenges. Throughout our journey, we have remained true to our principles: quality, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, which continue to guide us towards new goals and opportunities.

Finn Lamex has evolved to meet growing demand

When Finn Lamex’s foundation stone was laid in June 1999, no one could have guessed the success and growth the company would achieve. “The new factory was built in world record time”, wrote the Laitilan Sanomat, a local newspaper in December 1999. The 3,000 square metre windscreen factory had taken only six months to build and the decision to set up a windscreen factory had been taken only 10 months earlier. At the turn of the millennium, a team of 16 people started working in the newly completed premises. Thanks to quality production and skilled staff, we are now well established in our industry.

Finn Lamex has grown and developed to meet the growing demand and to better serve its customers. The factory has already undergone six expansions: the first in 2001, the second in 2004, the third in 2007, the fourth in 2010, the fifth in 2019 and the sixth in early 2024. All the expansions have been steps towards more efficient and productive operations.

Staff commitment has been a major factor in overcoming difficulties

Like many companies, Finn Lamex has faced difficult times. The ability to adapt and overcome difficulties has been a key part of Finn Lamex’s success story. However, the survival of the financial crisis in 2009 and the recession in 2012 demonstrated the company’s resilience and ability to adapt to changing market conditions. In 2020, the world faced an pandemic that had a major impact on many parts of the economy. Tourism and travel worldwide came to a standstill, the impact of which was also felt in the industry. Finn Lamex survived this period through without layoffs. The company wanted to retain skilled staff, knowing that a new boom would start at some point.

Successful steps towards the future

The ownership of Finn Lamex has also undergone changes over the course of its history. The last major change of ownership took place in 2016, but the most significant occurred in June 2023, when a majority stake in the company was sold to the Swedish capital investment company company Beijer Tech. This deal opens up new opportunities and provides solid financial backing for even stronger development and growth. In the future, Finn Lamex will actively seek to develop its operations and meet customers’ needs even better.

The year 2024 has started on a bright note after a change of ownership. We have been able to expand our factory even further and provide employment for many new windscreen professionals; today, Finn Lamex already employs almost 100 windscreen professionals. This is a testament to our commitment to growth and development and our desire to continue our successful journey towards future challenges and opportunities. Our turnover target for 2024 is 16 million EUR, reflecting our belief in the future.

We are proud of what we have achieved, but we also know that there is still much to be achieved in the future.
