Escar is an Italian cab manufacturer founded in 1979. Its headquarters are located in Piacenza, Italy. Escar has solid experience in the industry and has built its reputation as a quality supplier.

In 2022, Escar started cooperation with Finn Lamex. The cooperation was based on the need for windscreens with complex shapes, which are installed in the cabs of telehandlers. An important requirement was that, with the help of the windscreen, the driver would have a wider view of its surroundings, while the appearance of the machine remains modern and elegant.

The demanding design of the windscreen makes it a particularly challenging to manufacture, with a depth of 350 millimeters and a radius of 288 millimeters.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR VARIOUS CURVES

The design of the windscreen ordered by Escar had to take into account various curves, so the windscreen wipers also set higher requirements. We at Finn Lamex were able to meet the challenge by offering innovative solutions that met these Escar’s requirements.

To ensure that the windscreen was safe, it was manufactured as laminated safety glass. Laminated safety glass is a safe and user-friendly choice, because even if it breaks, it protects against, for example, wind and rain. In addition, laminated windscreen offers better sound insulation than tempered glass, improving working conditions.

DURING THE LAMINATION PROCESS, TWO SHEETS OF GLASS ARE FUSED TOGETHER WITH PVB FILM TO PREVENT SHATTERING IN THE CASE OF A BREAK, INCREASING SAFETY FOR THE DRIVER, PASSENGERS, AND PEDESTRIANS.

At Finn Lamex, we had the necessary production equipment and wide-ranging expertise, which made it possible to manufacture a deeply curved windscreen in accordance with Escar’s goals.
